NEWS 1203/2007 Well, Christmas is almost here!!! Thank you to all our fans who braved the cold weather to see us at the Coffee Klatch in Rancho Cucamonga last Saturday night. We had a great time and we hope you all enjoyed the show. Thanks again to the Coffee Klatch for having us and we are looking forward to returning soon. We are also looking to add an acoustic guitar player to the mix over the Christmas break so get ready to here a return to our original sound. We are currently working on the last 3 songs for the upcoming album "In The Distance". So enjoy the Christmas season and rejoice in the celebration of the birth of our Lord. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
09/12/2007 Here we are. Quickly approaching mid-September and what's happening? Well, we have the St. Paul Festival just 2 weeks away. Always a great time and place for family and friends to eat, drink, and enjoy great music with 5DR. We hope to debut a new original as well as some new covers at the Festival so please come out and have a good time. We also have some return engagements at both Rico's Coffee in La Verne and The Coffee Klatch in Rancho Cucamonga. We hope you continue to share your patronage with these places when we play there. We also ask for you to keep us in your prayers. We all have various members of our families battling health issues and we all hope that everything goes well but some additional prayers never hurt. We still plan on releasing the CD as soon as we write a couple of more songs for it. We want to make sure that the effort is worth it.
08/06/2007 Well, it has been awhile since I have updated the news page so here goes! Since we last chatted, we have played at St. Margaret's Festival in Chino, the Moreno Valley Mall, and the Coffee Klatch in Upland/Rancho Cucamonga! Pretty nice turnout at all of them. We will probably be returning to the Coffee Klatch and the Moreno Valley Mall in September and October so come out and see us if you didn't get a chance the last time. We are finishing up some songs for the album and I just finished writing 1 of the last 2 or 3 that will hopefully make it on there. Various members of the band have had an up and down summer with their personal and professional lives so keep us all in your prayers as the year moves on. We want to thank Chris at DrumPlayer Studios for putting up with us. It is a great rehearsal place in Chino and we are glad to say that they have just expanded to handle more bands!!! Anyway, I'm off on vacation for a week, Paul is returning from an unexpected road trip, Fish is wrapping up his vacation and Marilyn was in Manhattan Beach, Steve is hammering various parts of his hand back into place and there we are! So, stay Safe, Have fun and see you all.............. On the Road!!!
05/31/2007 Come check us out at St. Margaret's Festival on Saturday afternoon. We will be playing our music with a message from 1 to 3pm. Great Food, Great company and great music provided by 5DR!!! We also wish to thank Mike Minner for all his work with the band over the past year. He has decided to take a different path musically then us and we wish him well as he strikes out on the path the Lord has provided for him. God Bless you Mike!! 04/30/2007 We spent most of Sunday afternoon at Studio 9 recording 3 more tracks for our debut CD including the title track, "In The Distance". We still have a few more things to finish up on these songs as well as record 2 more that Mike, Steve and Marilyn have written. This album will have a wide range of sounds and multiple song writers including former members Ben Romzek and Mike Krick. We are looking forward to completing this and sharing it with all of you. We may put some rough cuts of the songs on this page soon so keep an eye out! See you all on Cinco da Mayo in Azusa and until then see you all....on the road!!
04/25/2007 Well, we are nearing the first official performance of 5DR for 2007!! It will be Marilyn's debut with 5DR and we are all very excited! We will be in the recording studio this weekend laying down the tracks to 4 more songs for the CD. It's been a long road but we are getting there. Check our events page to see all our upcoming gigs. This is Bob from 5DR and I'm writing you all from Seattle-Tacoma Airport. I've been here on a business trip and looking forward to returning to California. Ironically, it is beautiful here in Seattle and raining in California.... Go Figure!! Anyway, I'm pleased to announce the newest member of 5 Damascus Road, Marilyn Valencia. She brings a new energy and sound to the group and has opened up a new set of possibilities that we can't wait to explore. We will have a bio and pictures up shortly so you can see our new member. We may also put up some songs that she recorded previously. Join us in welcoming Marilyn to the 5DR family and we will all see you..... on the road!!! 01/17/2007 Here we are!! A New Year and a new start for 5 Damascus Road!! We have been auditioning various singers and we may have a new addition to announce here soon!! We are all rested and gearing up for a great year of Praise and Worship. We have some new songs, a renewed attitude and we are looking forward to playing live for all of you!
