NEWS 11/02/2006 While Rockstar:5DR continues to unwind, a few of us are taking some much needed vacation time. Although we are not in the studio together at the moment, we are all writing some new material and working on the future of 5DR. We are looking forward to Christmas and the New Years to once again rock the word of Christ.... on the Road!
10/24/2006 We had some great performances to close out the month of September!!!! We had a lot of fun at both the Sacred Heart and St. Paul Festival's. The crowd was great and we had a blast!! Now, after taking a couple of weeks off to rest and recover, we are back to work on some new material and the ongoing search for the new Damascus Idol. We have some prospects coming in over the next couple of weeks so who knows.. we may have some news soon. Until then we will see you..... on the road!
09/15/2006 Well, we are on the road this weekend playing at the Coffee Grinder in Moreno Valley! Come out and enjoy an evening a great Christian music and time with a bunch of great people. We are busy writing and learning new songs and getting ready for the 2 big festivals in Rancho Cucamonga and Chino Hills at the end of the month. After that, we hope to be back in the studio working on some more songs and revamping some of what is already there. As far as our search for a lead singer, we thought we found our guy but I guess the Lord didn't agree. We will resume the search for our "missing Link" after the festivals. It will be our own version of ROCKSTAR:5 DAMASCUS ROAD or maybe Damascus Idol. Whatever it is, we know that our Father has a plan for us and he will reveal it in his time, not ours. Anyway, hope to see you all tomorrow and enjoy yourself..... on the road!
08/08/2006 Hi Everyone!! Well, we think that the search is over. God always provides and we hope that he has sent us the new face and sound for 5 Damascus Road. We won't know for a few days yet but God willing, we will be able to make an official announcement soon. Remember, we will be at Lighthouse Coffee again on the 19th of August and we will most likely be playing somewhere in Riverside during the month of September so keep checking back. New pictures will be posted soon as well as all the new bios!! See you all.... on the road!
07/17/2006 Quick update: We have 2 performances coming up at the Lighthouse Coffee House in Chino. Come check us out and say Hi!! We have been rehearsing some new material as well as writing some new songs. You'll also here some of Mike's songs as we are now playing them as well. We may be adding a new member to the group soon so keep your eyes open. Anyway, enjoy your summer and keep rocking to His sound!
06/05/2006 Well, I figured I'd post a quick note. The guys and I have been getting everything locked down for the summer. With Steve Fish and Mike Minner now part of 5DR, we had to catch everyone up to speed which is going well. We will be playing over at the Lighthouse Coffee shop throughout the summer as well as few festivals including St. Paul the Apostle Harvest Festival in Chino Hills. We hope your summer is starting off well and we will see you all....... on the road!!!
05/11/2006 Spring is here and it is a time of Rebirth. Here we are in May and we have just celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ a month ago. We know that death is part of life as is the comings and goings of band members. We were saddened to hear that Mike Krick, our awesome rhythm guitar player and songwriter had decided to leave 5DR. Our loss will be someone else's gain as he continues on his other endeavors with his family and hockey team. Thank you for all the hard work, Mike, and we will miss you. We will be looking for a new member of 5DR soon. We have a performance coming up at the Lighthouse Coffee Shop this weekend and we will have a friend of the band, Michael Minner, filling in for us. Who knows what new challenges that God will present. But we know that he only gives us what we can handle so onward we go.
03/30/2006 The end of March is here and times... they are a changing. Chris took a break from the group due to family and business commitments so we where blessed to have Steve... Yes, another Steve.. come in and help out on bass. We will be in the studio through the month of April working on some new songs for the upcoming album. God has smiled down on us and given us obstacles as well as ways around them. We are staying true to his word as we continue this mission of faith through music. We have t-shirts available for sale now so if you want one, check out the site and send us a request. The shirts are being sold at our cost so you are getting a great deal!! Anyway, we will see you all ... on the road
02/21/2006 Here we are again!! Nearing the end of the 2nd month of February. Some things are happening around here but not quite ready to make any announcements quite yet. Needless to say, we are all pretty busy with our lives. Business is going well and the drive and passion for this group is still thriving inside us. We are writing a few more songs for the album as well as preparing some new covers for all of you. I do have to say that Mike's new song, "The Way" is way cool. "Days are Numbered" and "Everything" are really taking form. We are really happy with the results. Hope you all are too. If you haven't had a chance, get a listen at Toto's new album, "Falling In Between". Great Stuff!!! Anyway, God Bless and we will see you all on the road!!!!
01/09/2006 Well, today is a great day!! This is 5DR's one year anniversary!!! A year ago today: Steve, Chris, Paul, Mike and Bob played together for the first time at our rehearsal studio. A year later, we are proud to say that we have had a great time and looking forward to many more years of good music and fun times. Congratulations!!!!
01/04/2006 Happy New Year Everyone and Gold Bless you! Welcome to the new 5 Damascus Road website!! We want to thank Aaron Ford at SRP Signature Designs for the new logo and the great design work for the website. We are still working on it but keep coming back and checking out all the new content as it debuts. We are about to start our rehearsal schedule for the new year and prepare for our time in the studio later this month. We are looking forward to the experience and excitement that recording brings. We also will be working on some new songs to be able to further the message that we have been asked to convey. God Loves Us and we should rejoice! Get ready to rock with 5DR on the road!
